Pep Rally/Parade breakdown
Band students will get dismissed at 1:45 to get their instruments ready. (they are playing for Pioneer Manor residents). All students riding floats and cheerleaders will get dismissed at 1:45.
The floats will leave the front of the middle school at 2:00 to be through pioneer manor at 2:20 to be in front of the elementary school by 2:30.
All other students will be dismissed at 2:30 and will walk to Main Street for the pep rally. The pep rally will START at 2:45.
Floats will leave the front of the school and go down Madison Street where we will line up in a parade format. We will then go past the ECDC and head toward Main on 5th street. The city will have 5th - 8th street blocked off. Once they get to where the houses on Main Street are, they will stop, park and walk back to the traffic light. We will call the front and tell them when the last float is through the traffic light so he knows where to stop.
School Picture Day
It is on Wednesday, make sure they are looking fresh and keep in mind the dress code.
Homecoming Dance
Semi-Formal Homecoming Dance in HHS Cafeteria from 9 pm to 11pm. We are still in need of volunteers for supervision and clean up. If you are interested please let Mrs. Settlemyer know.
Friday is "Why Apply Day" and a state initiative that goes in hand with Apply Kansas Day. Each teacher has a "Why Apply Day" paper in their mailbox and we ask that they write a few words on there as to why students should apply (or go) to college. They can decorate it however they want. Please hang those in the hallway by their door so students can see them as they walk by.
Next Week… Sept 22nd -26th
It is another four day week but it is another busy one, with parent teacher conferences! Tuesday Sept 23rd from 4 to 8 pm and Thursday Sept 25th from 8 am to 8 pm. This month is flying by!
September 23rd is the City County showcase in Garden City. Any student that wants to connect and learn about different careers I would encourage to go. If the students want to go, it is free, but the organization pays $15 a plate for catered lunch so they have to commit and go and they can not back out. Registration closes next Thursday - students need to email Mrs. Settlemyer if they want to go. Please help us get students to sign up for this awesome opportunity!
