This Week…. Sept 29th - Oct 3rd

I will be gone Monday October 6th because we are finally signing on our house and we will Hugotonians!

We are invited for the 2nd Annual TechBiz day at SCCC, Tuesday Oct 7th in Liberal.

The day involves Learning about and flying drones. They will be in teams and build a robot from scratch from the materials provided. At the end of the allotted time they end the TechBiz by competing in a Robotic challenge. We will see who wins in the robotic build off and battle!

On the business side. They have a full day of marketing and business activities. Students will be able to work in teams of four that are randomly selected and they will be given an item to market and they will have to create a business plan and presentation. They will present what marketing strategies they decided to use and will mock sell their products to a board of judges. The stakes are high and each team will get to watch all the other sales pitches.

Lunch is provided

Students and Staff involved plan to leave at 7:45 am from the Bus Barn to Liberal.

Also on Tuesday, October 7th we have Apply Kansas going on in our school.  It is a statewide initiative where all seniors are encouraged to apply to colleges.  We have all seniors complete application(s), FAFSA, complete a mock interview, and participate in a resume workshop.  Seniors will be with Mrs. Settlemyer from either 8-11 or 12-3 that day.  All seniors will get to leave for lunch from 11-12.

Next Week… Oct 6th - Oct 10th

Reality U Day for the sophomores! It is a financial simulation and will help our students get a better grasp of what life is like after high school.

No Child Left Inside day! We will have food, games, activities, and it should be a fun time for all.

Also, for students who signed up for ACT testing it is on Saturday, October the 18th in the HHS Cafeteria at 8 am.

Looking Ahead…

October is in full swing and fall is coming! State finals in sports will also be flying in along with Halloween!
