This Week…. Nov 2nd - Nov 8th

The start of November is upon us and daylight savings time is on Sunday November 2nd! We will have Scholar Bowl Robotics tournaments, Band/Choir SWKMEA in Dodge city, our Football team is still running strong, and do not forget about Election Day!

Schedule changes for next semester!

All schedule changes for next semester must be made as soon as possible. The cut off date is December 19th before Christmas break begins.

Teacher of the Year!

Kalinda Wight has been nominated for Teacher of the Year! Her classroom is always full of energy, creative, and full of hands-on learning. Students are highly engaged in her interactive lessons and genuinely enjoy the projects she designs. Keep up the amazing work, Mrs. Wight! Her dedication and passion shine through in everything she does!

Election Day

Make sure you get out and vote! Mrs. Heger will be taking her senior Government classes to the polls to give them a first-hand look at the voting process and civic engagement in action.

Robotics

The Robotics team will be traveling to Wichita on Friday to observe the competition. This will be a valuable learning opportunity as students watch other teams in action and gather new ideas to enhance their own designs and strategies.

Eagle Pals

We’re thrilled to kick off Eagle Pals this week! Every Friday, high school students will visit the Elementary to connect with 3rd and 4th graders through mentoring and shared activities. This program is a wonderful opportunity to build leadership, friendship, and school pride across all grade levels.

Band/Choir SWKEA Honor Band & Choir

SWKMEA stands for the Southwest Kansas Music Educators Association. It’s our regional division of the statewide Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA), which includes schools from areas such as Larned to Liberal.

Students will be participating in auditions for the SWKMEA Honor Ensembles. Meanwhile, Choir students will be completing live auditions to see if they are selected for the District Honor Choir, which will perform in December. Students who score high enough at their district audition may advance to the KMEA All-State Choir, held in Wichita in late February.

This is a great opportunity for our students to showcase their talent, gain experience, and represent our school at the regional and state levels!

Next Week… Nov 9th - Nov 15th

It will be fall athletic buffer week before we know it! We will also be looking forward to Veterans day, 5 States Honor Band Auditions in Guymon, and our High School Musical!

Looking Ahead…

The last week before our week-long break for Thanksgiving. Make sure all our students have all their assignments turned in so they can enjoy their break!

Quote for the Week!

"No one can be you. Your life is your own. What will you do with it?"
