Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov 11th
On this day, we gather not only as students, teachers, and community members, but as Americans, to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans Day is a time to pause, to reflect, and to express our gratitude to those who have stood ready to defend our freedoms, often at great personal sacrifice.
Freedom is something we sometimes take for granted. We walk into school each morning, speak our minds, and make choices about our futures, all because generations of men and women have protected those rights for us. Our veterans are living reminders that freedom is never free; it is earned and preserved through courage, duty, and love of country.
To all our veterans, whether you served in times of peace or war, at home or abroad, we say thank you. Thank you for saying yes to the call, for choosing to make the sacrifice of your time and in some cases your life, and for setting an example of what it means to be there in a time of need. You have shown us what commitment looks like. You have shown us what it means to put others before yourself.
To our students, today is about more than a ceremony. It’s about understanding the responsibility we all share in honoring those who came before us. Each of us can show our respect through our actions, by serving others, by showing kindness, and by striving to make our community stronger. That’s how we carry forward the legacy of our veterans.
Let us remember the courage, discipline, and unity that define our nation and its heroes. And let us commit ourselves to living with that same sense of purpose and gratitude, not just today, but every day.
On behalf of Hugoton High School, thank you to all our veterans for your service and sacrifice. We honor you!

Your gift not only benefits our students but also provides hope and life to the patients who will receive these lifesaving donations. Thank you for making a difference!

Come join us for an unforgettable show!
The Musical will be on Friday and Saturday at 7pm and on Sunday at 3pm. The Addams Family School Edition is a comedy that tells the story of a growing secret within the famously macabre family: Wednesday Addams (Kinley Howie) is in love with a "normal" boy from Ohio named Lucas Beineke (Joe Zambrano). This leads to a disastrous dinner party where Wednesday asks her father, Gomez (Marco Amador), to keep the engagement a secret from her mother, Morticia (Ava Vertrees). The conflict arises when Gomez, who has never kept a secret from Morticia, must navigate this family crisis, leading to hilarious chaos as the two worlds collide
