This is going to be a busy and exciting week with students moving in and out. To help everything run smoothly, we’ll have spreadsheets in the front office starting Monday that show who is exempt and the hours they’re exempt. WINTER FESTIVAL
To start off this week Hugoton High School DECA is hosting the DECA Winter Festival from 11:30-4pm this Sunday, December 14th in the HHS Cafeteria. We have games, crafts, and story-time for the kids. Food and shopping for the adults. DECA will also be having a silent auction from donated gift baskets from some of the amazing vendors. We have 30 vendors, so make sure to swing on by for some holiday fun.
HOLIDAY CONCERT
Join us Monday at 7 PM in the Auditorium for our Holiday Concert! I’ve had the chance to hear the choir and band practicing all week, and they sound incredible. The choir will kick off the evening, followed by the band closing out the show. Come enjoy a wonderful night of music and the best part is, it’s completely FREE!
FINALS INFORMATION AND FRIDAY’S SCHEDULE
Final Exam Exemption Requirements:
Maintain A or B average.
No more than 4 absences per hour, per semester.
No more than 3 tardies per hour, per semester.
No disciplinary infractions.
All and only school activities absences are excused.
Do students need to check in and out with the front office if they are leaving or coming in?
Yes, students should always be checking in and out of the office. The only time they do not is if they show up on time to their first hour.
Will all classes have a final?
Yes, all classes will have a final exam. Teachers will decide the format, but each final will cover the content taught during the semester.
If a student is exempt from all their finals this is what is required of them.
Their last day of school is Tuesday, December 16th and we hope you have a wonderful break!
College classes will be finished early and students do not need to report for that hour once the class is completed with finals since they will be taking them early.
When Vo Tech classes finish students do not need to report for those hours once they are completed.
For Worked Based Learning students should continue to build relationships with the community and the partners they are working with. If they will be missing any time they need to notify Mr. Davis and community members they are partnered with.
If a student is exempt from only a couple of hours this is what is required of them.
On Wednesday Dec 17th we will be testing all odd hours. Students will be expected to show up for the odd and even hours that they have to test in. For the hours they are exempt they are free to leave. They must check in and out with the front desk before they leave and when they come in.
On Thursday Dec 18th we will be testing all even hours. Students will be expected to show up for the odd and even hours that they have to test in. For the hours they are exempt and finals they have already completed they are free to leave. They must check in and out with the front desk before they leave and when they come in.
On Friday we will see them for our half day of school where they get to check in with each hour ensuring they have completed everything.
