Our goal is for you to leave with a clear understanding of how your student is doing and what steps we can take together to support their continued success.

This Week…. Feb 1st - Feb 7th

Seniors Only

We are excited to share a new scholarship identification opportunity for our seniors through a partnership with VU Scholarships. This program matches students’ academic information with potential scholarship offers from colleges, universities, and other post-secondary institutions, giving students a clearer picture of opportunities available after high school, with no obligation to apply. With parent or guardian consent, Hugoton High School will securely share limited student data to begin the matching process. We are excited about the possibilities this may create and appreciate your help in encouraging post-secondary planning. Please direct any student questions to the counseling office.

Guest Speaker

We are excited to welcome Taylor Johnson as our guest speaker, who will be speaking with students about mental health. He comes highly recommended, and we are hopeful this will be a meaningful and impactful experience for both students and staff.

Conferences

During Parent Teacher Conferences, we aim to partner with you in a welcoming and collaborative way. Teachers will share observations, review academic progress and classroom habits, and discuss practical next steps to support your student. We value your input and will work together to ensure you leave informed and confident.

If you do not have a scheduled conference time yet, please let us know. Conferences will be held:

  • Monday, February 2 – 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM

  • Thursday, February 5 – 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

When you arrive for conferences, please check in at the front office. Once you’ve checked in, we will guide you to your child’s teacher.

Looking Ahead…

We have an exciting week ahead as boys wrestling regionals kick off and we celebrate Senior Night during our home basketball games against Colby! These events highlight the hard work, dedication, and pride of our student athletes, and there’s no better time to show our school spirit. Let’s pack the stands, cheer loud, and support our seniors as they take the mat and the court.
