During busy seasons like this, the consistency and high expectations in our classrooms help provide the structure students need to succeed. When students feel supported at school and at home, they rise to the challenge. This Week…. Mar 1st - Mar 7th

Basketball Sub-State

Sub-State basketball is here, and both our girls and boys teams have earned the opportunity to host at home thanks to their dedication, discipline, and hard work throughout the season. Hosting is a reflection of the commitment these student-athletes have shown all year, and now they have the chance to compete in front of the community that supports them so well. We invite everyone to pack the gym, wear your school colors, and create an electric home court atmosphere. Let’s show our teams how proud we are and give them the energy they deserve as they compete for the next step in their postseason journey.

HOSA SLC Conference & Competition

The HOSA State Leadership Conference provides our students with an incredible range of real world learning opportunities across the healthcare field. Through hands-on skill demonstrations, case studies, competitive events, research presentations, public speaking, leadership challenges, and career focused simulations, students apply classroom knowledge in authentic, high-level settings. They gain experience in problem-solving, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and professional presentation while exploring diverse health science careers. Beyond competition, students also build confidence, network with peers from across the state, and deepen their understanding of what it takes to succeed in the healthcare profession. This event truly prepares them not just for the next level of competition, but for college, careers, and leadership in the medical field.

FFA Career Development Events

The Kansas FFA Career Development Events in Agronomy, Poultry Evaluation, and Veterinary Science provide students with valuable, hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world agricultural careers. Through these competitions, students strengthen their technical knowledge in crop and soil science, poultry production and quality evaluation, and animal health and clinical procedures. Participants develop critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and career-ready skills while gaining exposure to industry standards and postsecondary opportunities in agriculture and veterinary fields. These events not only deepen students’ understanding of agricultural sciences but also build confidence, professionalism, and leadership as they compete at the state level.

Robotics

Our HHS Robotics team is helping build the future of STEM in Southwest Kansas by volunteering as referees and event leaders at the First LEGO League Tournament in Liberal. By giving their time and expertise, our students are not only supporting younger robotics teams but also strengthening the entire robotics community. Their leadership helps create a professional, organized, and inspiring environment where elementary and middle school students can showcase their innovation and teamwork. Through service, mentorship, and example, our students are modeling what it means to give back while promoting a culture of collaboration, growth, and opportunity in STEM.

We have yearbooks available spanning the past four decades! It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the moments, milestones, and memories that make our school special.
