Mr. Kent’s Updates
This is an exciting and busy week, with a lot of great things happening! As we move into the banquet season and prepare for our production of Peter Pan and Wendy stage play, there are many moving parts with many opportunities to celebrate our students and the hard work they’ve put in throughout the year.
With so much going on, our focus remains on staying organized, communicating clearly, and supporting one another. For our staff, this means continuing to plan ahead, keeping expectations clear for students, and helping them stay on track academically despite the busy schedule. For our community, it’s a great time to show support, whether that’s attending events, celebrating student accomplishments, or encouraging our kids as they balance multiple commitments.
Most importantly, we want to keep our students at the center of everything we do by helping them finish strong, stay engaged, and enjoy these memorable experiences. It’s a fun, high energy time of year, and by working together, we can make it a positive and successful week for everyone.

This Week…. Apr 12th - Apr 18th
To start off, we want to give a huge shoutout to Aqua Shield and Jackson Sheets for an incredibly generous act of support for our students. They stepped up in a big way by covering all outstanding student lunch balances, ensuring that every student was taken care of and able to enjoy their meals without worry. Acts like this reflect the true strength of our community and the impact of people who care deeply about our schools. If you see Jackson Sheets, please take a moment to thank him and give him a well deserved high five for his outstanding support of our students and school community!
This is a busy and exciting week at HHS with a lot to celebrate and support! We have multiple banquets taking place, including FFA and Powerlifting, along with a variety of activities, competitions, and tryouts happening throughout the week. Our students will also be representing HHS in golf, track, softball, baseball, art, band, and vocal events, while continuing to stay engaged in seminars, and school-wide activities.
Peter Pan and Wendy
A major highlight of the week is our school production of Peter Pan and Wendy stage play, with performances taking place Friday through Sunday. This is a great opportunity for our community to come out and support our students and celebrate their hard work.
On Friday, students will report to the auditorium at 8:00 am to begin preparations for their dress rehearsal, marking an exciting step as they bring their production to life. Later in the day at 1:15 pm, our elementary and middle school students will have the opportunity to preview the play. We are especially excited to welcome them, as our younger students are always enthusiastic and engaged audience members, and their excitement helps create a fun and energetic atmosphere that makes the experience even more memorable for our performers.
With so many moving parts, our focus as a school is on communication, organization, and supporting our students in all areas. Staff can help by continuing to clearly communicate expectations for assignments and being mindful of students who may be gone for activities, while also encouraging them to stay on track academically. As a community, your support and presence at events makes a big difference and helps create a positive experience for our students.
By working together, staying flexible, and keeping our students at the center, we can make this a successful and memorable week for everyone involved.
Banquets
Banquets are an important tradition that bring together our students, staff, and community to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our programs throughout the year. They provide a meaningful opportunity to recognize student success, strengthen relationships, and highlight the commitment of coaches, sponsors, and teachers who support students every step of the way. For our community, banquets serve as a reminder of the impact our schools have beyond the classroom, showcasing the teamwork, growth, and pride that make our programs so special. We have FFA and Powerlifting banquets this week.
Perfect Attendance
We also want to recognize and celebrate our students for their outstanding commitment to being present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. In February, 68 students earned perfect attendance with zero absences and zero tardies, reflecting a strong dedication to consistent participation in their education. As part of our new initiative to promote and reinforce positive attendance habits, five students were randomly selected to receive a $20 attendance incentive award. Congratulations to Aden Pineda, Jasmine Sena, Paty Zizumbo, Adrian De La Cerda, and Cameron Rosas for being recognized for this achievement.

Next Week… Apr 19th - Apr 25th
The window for MAP testing is now opening, marking an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their growth and continued academic progress. We encourage all students to stay focused, do their best, and approach this assessment as a chance to show how much they have learned throughout the year.
At the same time, our spring athletic teams are off to a strong start and continue to show great teamwork, effort, and school pride. They have been exciting to watch, and we are proud of the way they are representing HHS both on and off the field. We encourage our families and community members to come out when possible to support and cheer on our student-athletes, as their energy and encouragement make a meaningful difference.
Looking Ahead…
Quote for the Week!
