Thursday, the Lady Eagles golf team opened up their season by hosting a 9-hole tournament at Forewinds Golf Course. Golfers from Colby, Hugoton, Cimarron, Goodland, Scott City, Lakin, Holcomb, Ulysses, and Syracuse all competed. 56 golfers in all, participated in either the Junior Varsity or Varsity divisions.
On the Varsity side, the Eagles were led by Morgan Anderson (3rd place), Danica Amerin (7th place), and Lyla Evans (8th place). As a team, the Varsity took 2nd place overall. Other members competing at the varsity level included Kaylee Nix, Ava Skinner, and Rylee Fann.
At the Junior Varsity level, the Eagles were led by Elsie Gonzalez (7th place) and Myka Evans (8th place). Rounding out the JV roster yesterday was Madison Kurts and Bianca Hernandez.

The Lady Eagles return to action next week, as they travel to Goodland to play Sugar Hills Golf club on Tuesday. Tee times begin at 10:00 am. On Thursday, they will play Cimarron Golf Club in Cimarron. Tee times begin at 3:00 pm.
