Director of Nutrition Services - Hugoton, KS
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Nutrition Services is responsible for day to day operations of the school district’s child nutrition program. The Director of Nutrition Services will professionally oversee and administer the food service program in accordance with Opaa! procedures, client policies, and government regulations.
Responsibilities include:
80% Hands-On Operations
1. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with school district administration and staff
2. Supervise the production and service of breakfast and lunch meals and special events
3. Work in any and all areas of the kitchen and cafeteria
4. Train, coach, and develop team members
5. Purchase food and supplies, manage inventory, and maintain a monthly budget
6. Maintain a safe work environment
20% Business Administration
1. Recruit, hire, and retain high functioning kitchen teams with applicant tracking system software
2. Utilize Point of Sale System to keep business records and analyze records to increase participation
3. Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Desired qualifications, skills and experience
Qualified candidates must meet at least one of the following education and experience requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience with academic majors in the areas including food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education culinary arts, business or related field;
OR
High school diploma (or GED) and at least 3 years of relevant food service experience

We are pleased to announce that the free meals program for all USD 210 students has been extended through June 30, 2021. You do not have to do anything additional to participate. Each student will be eligible for 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch each day school is in session. A la carte items are still subject to fees. Questions? Contact the USD 210 Central Office.

At a special meeting today, the USD 210 Board of Education voted to move Hugoton Elementary and ECDC to Phase 2.0 beginning on Monday, October 5. Hugoton Middle School will remain in Phase 2.2 and Hugoton High School will remain in Phase 4 Hybrid. On Monday, October 19, Hugoton High School will move back to Phase 2.2.

Friday's Special BOE meeting to discuss continuing in the Hybrid Model at HHS has been scheduled for 12:00 noon. Due to limited seating capacity at Central Office, we will broadcast the meeting on the Youtube Channel: 210 Livestream.

Starting Monday, September 21, Hugoton High School will begin attending school in a Hybrid model. This is for the HIGH SCHOOL ONLY. Your child has been notified of their grouping. Please notify the office if they do not know which days to attend. This will be revisited on Oct. 2.
