We are encouraging 9th graders to bring a case of bottled water OR 12 pack of soft drink, 10th graders to bring bags of individual wrapped packages of sweet snacks, juniors to bring a bag of individual wrapped salty snacks, and seniors to bring bags of individually wrapped candy. New HHS students may come to the high school building on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 to find their classrooms. The first day of school will be Thursday, August 17, 2023. If you get here before 8:00, please go to the library and you will be dismissed to your first period class.
ALL incoming HHS freshmen (9th graders) and students NEW to HHS this year are invited and strongly encouraged to attend "Fish Camp" on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 7:00 in the cafeteria. Parents are also encouraged to attend. We will go over our expectations for our students. Please park in front of the cafeteria and enter at the cafeteria door. "Let's Get Fired Up" for another exciting school year!
HMS STUCO Fundraiser
Hugoton High School students are encouraged to buy their 2023 LOCK IN tee shirt online from "Main Revelation" ASAP. Our annual LOCK IN will be Friday, August 18, 2023 from 5:30-11:30. We encourage EVERY HHS student to attend this fun night filled with fun and back to school fellowship. This is an AWESOME way to get our school year started and to build and renew relationships. Make plans to attend!
This week, taxpayers in Stevens County should get a tax statement due to taxing entities whose budget may exceed revenue neutral (collect more tax dollars than the prior year). Please see the attached letter explaining the USD 210 proposed budget and why it includes the possibility of collecting more tax dollars than last year.
Stevens County Health Department will be available at the District in person enrollment on August 3rd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to provide immunizations.

High School Band Camp will be staring on Monday, July 31, 2023 - Friday, August 4, 2023 starting at 8:00 am in the band hall. Camp registration will be on Sunday, 7/30/2023 from 1:30-5:00 PM. Parents and students need to attend registration. If you are looking to rejoin the band, please reach out to Mr. Parkridge during registration. Band Council members need to arrive by 1:00 to help set up for registration.

INCOMING HES 5th graders - Beginning Band Camp will be from Monday, July 17th - Friday, July 21st in the High School Band room. Come through the Link Cafeteria exterior doors (where lunches are handed out). Flutes, clarinets, oboe, alto saxophones will meet from 8:00 am - 11: 00 am. Trumpets, trombones, and baritone will meet from 1:00-4:00 pm. Parents will need to come in with their child to check them in and out each day. Those students attending at least 4 days of camp are invited to a Pool party at the city pool on Saturday, July 22 at 7:00.
Due to an issue with an electric transformer, there will be no power at Hugoton Elementary for the next few weeks. Summer school will be moved to the ECDC for the remaining sessions. The summer meals that were at Hugoton Elementary will be moved to the ECDC as well. Times for both summer school and summer meals will remain the same as they have been all summer.
Due to a scheduling conflict, the regularly scheduled July Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday, July 17. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm as usual.
