Mrs. Nordyke's students were working on making reviews for their vocabulary tests that they will take this week. Students get to choose how they will make their study item. Some chose to make foldables, flip cards, use index cards, and even make notes on their iPads.
Mr. Terrill's 8th grade art students using digital pens. They are working on a Scratchboard portrait art lesson.




During Unplugged today, students played the game, "Ships & Sailors". Staff did a great job of being the "sharks".



The HHS football team and Coach O'Loughlin helped HMS students & staff celebrate Fight Song Friday. Coach O'Loughlin & seniors spoke about their season and the game tonight against Holcomb. With the help of several HMS students, the student body ended with the fight song.

Mrs. Mecklenburg's students made toys to represent kinetic and potential energy this week during 8th grade science. Hand on learning at its best!

Mr. Witt was the guest speaker at "Fight Song Friday on 10/18/19. He led students in his "Down By The River" chant! FSF is every Friday morning. Students & staff celebrated Hugoton 210 spirit. Students are encouraged to wear "Eagle" shirts and sing our school fight song.



Tonight’s home JV football game against Holcomb has been canceled.
HMS held it's 1st pep rally in several years, on Oct. 17th. Led by the HMS Cheer Team, the rally was a huge success. Students shared in Eagle spirit. The Cross Country, VB and FB teams were recognized. We will hold another pep rally during basketball season.

7th graders in Mrs. Burrow's Genius hour presented their end of the 9 weeks projects. Some of the student projects included crocheting baby blankets for the NICU, experimenting with different batteries to charge cell phones, and the best way to throw a ball in any given sport.

On Thurs., Oct. 10th, HMS students celebrated the end to the first 9 Weeks with EPIC party. EPIC parties are earned by students who meet the following criteria during the 9 weeks; 90% attendance, 4 marks or less on student “Conduct Card” and all grades at 60% or higher.
There is no school on Monday, October 14, as teachers have a professional learning day.
