Mrs. Nordyke's Read 180 students are working on plans for a fundraiser for koala bears which were displaced because of the fires in Australia.
Due to more projected ice overnight, Hugoton Public Schools will have a 2 hour late start tomorrow, January 17. School will start at 10:10.

One of the many activities HMS have going on this week is "Strike A Pose". Today is also "Christmas Sock" day and tomorrow is "Ugly Sweater/Sweatshirt" day. A big shoutout to Mrs. Leeper who has worked hard to make this week a fun experience for our students.
HMS Winter Snowball Dance took place on Thursday, December 12th. Students had a great time dancing, visiting and eating snacks. Thank you to STUCO for sponsoring all HMS dances.
With snow overnight, roads are a little slick. Allow extra time as you come to school today. Buses may run a little behind as they allow more time for destinations.

Mrs. Ferguson's 7th grade science students completing several different experiments. Groups had to determine independent & dependent variables and write a hypothesis.
Mr. Terrill's 7th grade art students are shown getting ready for the Scholastic Art Competition. They are sculpting, "Found Object Hand Sculptures" that will be painted when complete.
Mr. Terrill's 7th grade art students are shown glazing ceramics. Some of these will be entered in the scholastic art competition. They will be fired over the weekend and registered next week.
